Poetry: Gone

by Steven Ormosi

I woke up in the morning
And it was gone
I walked out of my house
And everything looked the same
But it wasn't
It was gone
The world had blown away
In the night
Like a tumbleweed
Doing its best to
Get out of that ghost town
I had goosebumps that day
I remember
It was a balmy
75 degrees
Then I saw the smoke
Then that creature
That thing
Burst out of my neighbor's house
And ran down the street
And it was gone.
